  • In the debate on online poker legalization CCC forms a new force

In the Californian Legislature the building momentum behind several bills for intrastate online poker legalization has led 88 land cardrooms from the state to form a group named ?Communities for California Cardrooms?.

According to CCC, its objective is to preserve the interest and be the cardrooms? voice as the legal online poker prospect comes closer for the state.

The CCC?s formation could add an influential new element to the debate concerning online poker and how it should be organized in California State. Many of the cardrooms previously were in an alliance with tribal groups in the California Online Poker Association (COPA), which is now abandoned and which ran a site called CalShark, which is available for free play.

Two state lobbying firms have already been taken on board by CCC.

The newspaper Sacramento Bee reports that the new body?s position on legalization has not been stated yet. Regardless, a spokesman has said that some competitive issues exist in the currently proposed measures for legislation.
