Hollister Teen Found Safe In Southern California KTVU San Francisco

HOLLISTER, Calif. -- A Hollister man who prompted a statewide Amber Alert by allegedly abducting his 13-year-old daughter was arrested after both were found in San Bernardino early Wednesday, a San Benito County sheriff's sergeant said.

Marcelino Ramirez, 34, was driving south on Interstate Highway 15 just north of Interstate Highway 215 when he was pulled over by California Highway Patrol officers after the CHP received a call from a driver who spotted his 2007 white Honda Odyssey around 4:30 a.m., Sgt. Tony Lamonica said.

The girl did not appear to be injured but detectives are still interviewing her, Lamonica said.

She was reported missing at about 4 p.m. Tuesday by her mother, who told authorities that her husband has a history of violence, Lamonica said.

Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of child abduction and sexual assault. He was booked into San Bernardino Jail.
