Better coverage for less: The public auto insurance advantage National Union of Public and General Employees
Manitoba provincial P.C. candidate Gord Steeves believes private corporations should take over auto insurance. The Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU/NUPGE) has responded with a campaign explaining why public insurance is the smart choice for Manitoba families and communities.
Ottawa (30 August 2011) - Gord Steeves, a candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party in the upcoming Manitoba election, believes that private corporations should take over auto insurance.
Steeves said the following: “Is auto insurance a service government needs to provide? Iʼd be more interested in fostering… the private sector.”
The Manitoba Government and General Employees Union (MGEU/NUPGE) has produced a series of fact sheets and a video advertisement which provide the following answer to the question raised by Steeves: The Manitoba public auto insurance system provides better coverage at lower prices compared to private auto insurance in other provinces.
