The Jamestown Education Association and Jamestown Public School Board duke it out every two years.
Like all districts, the two sides meet throughout the spring and summer, negotiating compensation including teacher pay, sick days, health insurance benefits and contributions to retirement accounts. In Jamestown, they meet each biennium.

What that means is, some districts may offer more generous retirement benefits, for example, but perhaps starting salaries are lower. Or, if starting salaries are high, perhaps the district doesn’t offer additional benefits like dental or life insurance.
