n An Alzheimer's Educational Series: sponsored by Clipper Harbor of Portsmouth, Solana Alzheimer Care Center, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the third Thursday of the month. The series will focus on various aspects of Al­zheimer's disease and light refreshments will be served. The discussions will take place at Clipper Harbor of Portsmouth, 188 Jones Ave., Portsmouth. -  Sept. 15: Patricia Corso, Solana program director and certified activity director, will present "Activities Make the Difference." Having activities plays a vital role in promoting wellbeing and diversion for folks with Alzheimer's dis­ease. Activity ideas and tips will be offered for each stage along with mapping their indi­vidual leisure schedule.

-  Oct. 10: Mike Joya, social worker, Sol Amor Hos­pice, will share his experi­ences as a caregiver and why hospice is so vital during the end stages of dementia for both the family and resident.
