Meanwhile, Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) president Datuk Mohd Khalid Harun during the launch of Matta Fair 2011 in Kuala Lumpur recently said that they would make travel insurance compulsory by year’s end.
Tourism Malaysia acting director-general Datuk Azizan Noordin, who was also present at the launch, disclosed that several roadshows to brief people on the importance of travel insurance had been conducted in Kuala Lumpur and they would visit other states to carry out similar roadshows soon.
Jonanif confirmed to The Borneo Post that the roadshows would be carried out after receiving instruction from the main office in Kuala Lumpur.
He also said that Tourism Malaysia Sarawak would be organising an open house jointly with Santubong Homestay operator on the first day of Hari Raya for tourists who were staying there.
